    Some of the ones I listed have optical flow, which is VPS. As an extra bonus, the Wingsland M1 is down to $175. It may not be the greatest, but it was a low-end commercial drone a few years ago. It's got substantial size and a 3-axis stabilized gimbal.

    to update this thread, and for anyone that's had a similar problem as myself, the issue was user error... The problem was that I was connecting to the wifi before turning on the app, which apparently doesn't work. What does work is to open the app, then connect to the wifi, then go back to the app.
