TelloFPV - The app for Tello FPV, Photo, Video

@volate!lo justifying investing time in these sorts of things is a hard decision tree, if you're trying to get a return on the time you invest. The market is just too small. In any case, I like the purchase-add-on model your using, it's a good way to get compensated for incremental effort. In...

TelloFPV - The app for Tello FPV, Photo, Video

Love the app, purchased both FPV and TelloMe. Sad today... updated my Samsung Note 10 to the latest Verizon release (11), and it broke two things: The Rhyze app no longer shows video (who cares, don't use it anyway), and Tello FPV won't connect to the Parrot Flypad any more. It finds it when...

    Panning

The stuttering movement during a pan is caused by the image stabilization. It's a pretty unsophisticated algorithm that doesn't seem to include control inputs as a parameter, to allow optical flow across the moving direction. You can get rid of the jerking during a pan by switching to FAST...

Difference Between the iOS and Android Tello App

Okay. FWIW, I know better. Can't be done with wifi. Can they improve it? No doubt. Can they make it as reliable as Occusync? No. And that's point. That's why they invested millions in Occusync. If it could simply be "fixed" for wifi, Occusync wouldn't exist.

    Won't take off

Just curious... why were you putting props on a new Tello? Mine came with the props on in the package.

Difference Between the iOS and Android Tello App

You'll have problems with occasional dropped frames within a few feet if the drone is moving. Wifi is not designed for moving stations. There are entirely different (and far more robust) transmission protocols that do very well with moving sources. You will notice few, if any dropped frames...

To the people having video stutters...

Didn't mean to trash the Tello entirely as a way to capture some cool, even useful video. However, if what you're shooting needs to be reliable, the Tello is the wrong platform. Think of shots that can't be repeated, for example. The minimum change they need to make to the Tello is add a...

To the people having video stutters...

While there are various things that can be done to improve the video quality, the bottom line is there is no way to make it reliable. This is simply the nature of the system, relying on streaming over wifi. Wifi, as a transmission media and protocol, was not designed to reliably stream from a...

Difference Between the iOS and Android Tello App

Sure! The answer is, truly, very simple. A cell phone is a very poor WIFI transmitter. This is because it has no (real) antenna. Yes, there's a wifi antenna internally, and it does an amazing job for what it is, but it really isn't suitable for transmitting and receiving high bandwidth signals...

    Multiple Drones

Same here, but not ashamed at all.

Difference Between the iOS and Android Tello App

Software developers here know exactly what (likely) happened. One platform is the reference platform, that code being ported to the other platform. At some point the subordinate platform had to freeze it's development for testing before release, which had one of the two methods of displaying...
