    The official tello app does work with the nvidia shield because I use it to fly fpv with various goggles. The other Atello app also works with it. I haven't purchased this app yet but most likely will.

    The controller worked with the app last night and I'm not sure why - I think it's possible bluetooth had turned on before without me knowing it. I'll have to test more. But, pressing the Start using my Nvidia Shield K1 tablet starts a game controller app on the tablet. L1 does start video...

    The battery was at 100% and installed in the Tello.

    Bluetooth was off and generic joystick is actually the default. I can see at the bottom when the app is running that the joystick movements are recognized but nothing on the screen in the app works either. I press the icon to take off and nothing happens.

    I bought the Gamesir T1s to use an OTG cable with the aTello app. According to a poster here, it is supposed to work but I could never get it to connect to your app. The tablet recognizes the controller and the GamepadTest app recognizes the controller and any stick movement or button press.     I'm using the latest version of aTello and an Nvidia Shield K1 tablet running Android 7 (Nougat) and the Gamesir T1d and the controller never connects via OTG. Also, the video feed is unusable. I'm using the same OTG cable that I use for my Spark and it works fine with it.

    Android phones that work with Tello

    I'm using a rooted Nvidia Shield K1 tablet and using the Gamesir T1d controller and the HDMI out from the tablet connected to a Eachine Goggles Two to do FPV flying . I had to side load the Tello app because the app store said the device and software weren't compatible.
