    Okay, I missed to confirm the password by the check symbol on my keyboard. Indeed cannot change ssid for now due to app crashing as soon as I try to change the existing default string. Have now a WPA2 encrypted connection and can configure the repeater properly. Thanks for your help and advice.

    Currently I use "other" as suggested here (tip 2): DJI Tello Range Extended 5X! The Xiaomi MI WiFi Extender I'm afraid the Region thing is for recognition of the repeater itself necessary. So this hurdle should be passed, but i'll try Hong Kong and report back.

    Similar here. When I try to change the ssid the app crashes (latest app version 1.2.10.19, Firmware version 01.03.33.01) . How do you other guys did manage to change ssid and set a password? Problem is Xiaomi does not allow unsecured network connections.
