    So I have a Samsung S8+ and Gamesir T1D controller, and they work great to fly the Tello. But I really got the Tello for my daughter to fly, and I'd like to fly my Spark while she flies the Tello so I need my phone. Just want to make sure I'm thinking this through, but I don't need a cell plan...

    The Tello came with the propeller guards, so we're set there. I launched it for the first time this morning...it's fantastic! I also got the GameSir controller and it works perfectly, she's going to really like it. It's super stable and very easy to fly, moves nice and slow in SLOW flight...

    I think you should get the Tello. The price is good, and you don't have to buy anything else right away to fly it. I purchased the GameSir controller to go with mine so my daughter can fly it easily. I bet you'll like it, and then you can upgrade to the Spark...which is an amazing little drone!
