Active Track implementation in Tello SDK

My sw technology stack;
DJITelloPy Wrapper (Fuentes)
OpenCV
Yolov3
PID tracking (on xy plane)

Average Control Loop Time: 330 ms
Average Object Detection Time: 220 ms
(on an old core i3 notebook)

well as a followme demonstartion this needs some more work, but you seemed to have fun so who cares (y).

u need a new notebook :).
You are definetily right: with a more powerfull CPU at the same processing time object detection could be much more accurate on distant/small objects.
Now I'm operating at really low resolutions, in very good light conditions (outdoor daylight) tello finds me if I'm less than 10-12 meters from him.
This was a first indoor artificial light footage and he could detect persons only at 8 meters or less.

Very good point volatello. And this wasn't really a followme demo, but a failed followme turned in some good and fun cinematographic footage :)(at least for me).
But now you motivated me to publish my outdoor demo ... (osd telemetry taken during my PID implementation and gain tuning), so thank you!

same problem as the pose estimation: Requires lots of processing power, which is not avaiable on average phones.
