Hi Tello community,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experience connecting the Tello drone battery directly to the + and - pinout on the drone itself, bypassing the battery's built-in BMS.
I recently tried this setup with the 18650 battery, and while the drone does power on, it detects the battery as having only 2% charge. I suspect this is due to pins 2 and 4 not being connected, which might be part of the security checks that the drone's CPU performs to assess battery status. When using the official battery, these additional pins communicate important data about the battery condition.
Has anyone attempted to connect the battery directly and managed to create a patch or workaround to bypass this detection issue? Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help!
