Hello fellow pilots.

UPDATE: I got response from Radiomaster, company that makes radio controllers, and they told me that it can't be used with tello as tello can use only their original controller.

I am planning to get Radiomaster Pocket elrs, can it be used with tello?
I have iphone XS Max with ios 17.6

The choice of Pocket was made because i pan to add another drone in the future, probably a mobula 6,7 or 8 and goggles. For now i want to oppen up learning in on screen simulators and playing with tello.
Thanks in advance!

Bonus question.
Does having a controller helps with tello jerking when using throttle on fast mode? So far whenever give it throttle it tilts a lot, than normalize then go. I can't get it to start and stop smoothly.

Thanks in advance!

About bonus question:
there are a number of things that can be done to reduce jerking

the fast mode, called S Sport, is, of course, the one that will have greatest down dip in the acceleration direction. (Is that what you mean by jerk?)

In the controller settings you can put in a limit button press that decreases the speed. you will see that the mode changes from S to SL.

There are settings for how the instructions to the drone follow the joystick motions. You can set dead zone. You can choose different reaction curves.

You can choose modes that are smoother, where cinematic = C is smoothest.

Thank you jeffjeff!
The term you used "forward dip is exactly what i was thinking about!

I don't have any physical controller andi use iPhone and stock tello app. I am not sure if this forward dip can be resolved there. Overall i find the ios app to be hard to maneuver.

You can even adjust the screen joystick response in the app. I thought you were asking about some kind of controller.
Not in the standard app. Controller tuning -just like Cine mode or limiter- are only available in TelloFpv

I just assumed that he was using TelloFpv. Who would stay with the standard app when TFpv exists?!? So Marko, get TelloFpv if you don't have it!
(I haven't used the iOs version but that has good reviews like the Android one)

Problem with the iOS version is it can only talk to controllers that are supported by iOS itself (plus Flypad and Gamesir T1D) . The joys of a locked down eco system.

Thank you both for helpfull tips, i Will check out TelloFPV for sure.
If i understood correctly Radiomaste Pocket can't be used to fly tello on both stock app, or tellofpv?

Hello, the radiomaster pocket is compatible with the tello, if you use Volatello's fpv app and OTG cable (only wired! The rm pocket is either ELRS or 4 in 1, not wifi, like the tello). I'm using a emax tinywhoop controller, not gamepad. Actually all controllers, that have data port. You need to select the controller in settings of the fpv app. But I guess, you need to set the manouvers (yaw, pitch, throttle and roll), because they are a mess and sometimes need to reverse. So, try with caution, can be that the drone does totally differet movement, what you expect. Good luck!
