Not sure if you have seen it but the FAA have proposed new rules for UAVs that will require remote transponders. This can have many consequences for drone pilots including additional costs and can really harm hobbyist and commercial drone usage. Also here in Italy with the arrival of the new European regulation, the transponder for drones over 250 grams will be mandatory, but for now nothing is known of the cost etc.
For the little DJ Tello, insurance is mandatory and registration and application of the QR code on the drone will be mandatory.
