I am in the process of build an app to control my Tello with the gyros in my phone( I only have the use of 1 hand so having something s ga way to fully control the Tello with my working hand s the goal. I have but in a PID controller possibly overkill but I;'m interested in ways other devs may have tweaked the flight characteristics of their tellos through the use of home brew controllers to that end do typical aircraft flight dynamics rules apply? (I have studied flight dynamics the past so it's more of a can I remember my studies/could be fun to implement level of feature! I suspect especially with gyro control PIO could be a risk.

Very interesting project. While not a hoembrew/DIY, have you seen the controller on the new AntiGravity A1 drone? A single baton with button that controls the drone via movement of the controller baton. Reminds of of the Wii remotes for gaming. But the A1 controller likely uses gyro and IMU in it to control the drone similar to what it sounds liek you are doing.

The dji motion controller is on the market for years. Already the 3rd generation...
Much simplier, if he buys a dji Neo motion combo....

To be honest, I really hate it. I bought it with the Avata 2 combo, but immediately bought the FPV controller 3. I wanted to sell it, but noone buys it in Europe. The americans like it for some reason.yes, nice . I've not had a chance to try one. How are they?
