Glad to find an active community for the tello. I have been playing with python and the tello drone. I've probably played with all of the code in github and done keyboard, opencv, etc. My latest project is for my own home automation/security.
My plan is to use the tello as a intruder detector to take off through my chimney. I've had great connection from my home, but I am looking into doing some automation by attaching a tiny pi to run the commands directly to the tello. I am thinking of using the opencv to read markers in the yard to identify what location on the "home grid" the tello is in and then execute watchdog missions to detect faces of movement.
For movement I am thinking of using the tello video filter to detect motion during hovers and to alert us of alert in grid. Lots of work, but hopefully a project to track along with the dji drones advances.
