Hey folks, just introducing myself as instructed.
I'm a 25+ year veteran of engineering and IT at major corporations, approaching my 50th birthday as a CompSci grad student at Georgia Tech.
My father started designing radio controlled flight systems in the 1950's and still does consulting work on the same. At 80 years old he's been an inspiration in lifelong learning.
Drones have previously been a toy or a plaything to me, but now I'm looking to conduct real research and algorithm development for drone autonomy, specifically unconstrained dead reckoning for interrupted path resumption.
I picked the Tello for a combination of factors: low price , documented API, an open (though simple) data model, and the ability to carry light loads (flight time is not a concern for me).
Glad to have found this forum and looking forward to learning from all of you.
