is there a way to keep flight logs when changing smartphone (installing app on a new phone)?

no. The flight logs are stored in a database that is not accessible. Android has a sandbox model that makes such files inaccessible.

Maybe using some backup tool, but i never tried that.

That's a pity.. I personally change phone quite often...
Any chance that you will enable a db export and import functionality?
