Viewing the IR camera/firmware update issue (non-EDU)

I noticed a function in the djitellopy python library about setting the stream to the bottom-facing IR camera, Tello#set_video_direction(self, direction: int). A previous thread mentions that this is available on the non-EDU version since firmware update v02.05.01.17, however, the Tello app (ios) says that my drone is on version v01.04.92.01, while also saying this version is the latest. However, I checked on an android phone that I no longer have access to earlier, and it had updates available.

Why does the iOS Tello app (1.6.2) refuse to show the latest firmware update? Why does it not let me update?
Is there any possibility of me updating the drone on ios / Linux?

As far as I know, v02.05.01.17 is only for Tello EDU.

Odd, it did say there was an update available on the android app. I’ll look into it next time I have access to it.

Yup, you were correct. I hope DJI/Ryze add that functionality to the normal tello..
