    I use the xiami repeater with 2, 4 watt boosters, 2 biquad antenna, and a 200 mw fpv camera and can get out a mile on flat ground. The signal strength in the fpv goggles acts like a locator when I goes down, otherwise it is gone first time the signal is lost.

    I do put a Marco Polo drone tracker on the Tello because when I fly out over 3000 ft (1K), most times something goes wrong and i have to go get it. I also fly 100 ft high, so the wind is a major factor on it not making it back.

    DJI also says the Smart Controller is good fo 4.8 miles, it will vary do 4. I saw Dustin Dunnill do it on his channel. Great channel so I thought I’d try it and it will do it.     I took the insides out of the MI range extender, soldered SMS connectors on the antenna spots on the board ( there are two) soldered an old usb cable for power, put the whole mess in a plastic project, box, added an old 4Hawks antenna I had laying around and now I can easily go out over 1/2 mile...

    Tello PCB and antenna reference, to help fellow crazy modders ;)

    I had a 4Hawks panel antenna laying around and I took the board out of the Mi extender, added SMA connectors to the board, put everything in a project box, and I can get out almost 1/2 mile with no mods to the aircraft.
