Is there a way other than using the motors on the Tello to discharge the batteries when I can't use them? Between work, darkness and wind my flying time is falling short. Do the batteries self discharge?
They will for sure discharge slightly over a loooong time, just like any other battery.
And just like any other battery it could be discharged by connecting any "electric consumer" (to the two outer contacts IIRC). But I am not aware of some intelligent battery maintenance charger or stuff like that.
Simply let your Tello hover for 4-5 minutes to discharge the battery to a decent "storage level" if you're worried. (I am not)
U can avoid using the motor. Just switch it on and rest it there. The battery will drain at a slower pace than having motors on. Make sure you cool tello with a fan or sonething or it shuts down. Also it may shut down after sometime for having no command.
