I'm using tello fpv app and can't get that tello to take off with the gamesir remote. The joysticks work but have to launch tello with the phone. Any ideas?

You should be able to scan for the controller in TelloFPV. Once it is found you have to "map" the desired button to the "takeoff" command. See controller settings. The full user manual is available by clicking "help".(PDF will download) Happy flying!

You wouldn't have to map the take off for the t1d. Try bringing both sticks down and toward each other to arm the motors ( get them started) and then you can take off.
