Don't we have a year warranty? How was the motor damaged?

First of all check it’s not covered under warranty. But if not It looks pretty simple, you have to solder them direct to the board though, or cut the wires and solder them together and make sure to cover them with heat shrink. At least that way you won’t knacker your board up if you get it wrong.
