Ryze Tello Galaxy Note 8 Compatibility

I am looking to buy a Tello yet I hear there is some compatibility issues with some Android Phones.
I have a Galaxy Note 8, is it compatible with this drone?

It's not listed as compatible with Tello app and listed as compatible with Tello EDU app on Ryze site, but it means nothing -- it should probably be more "tested / not tested with" status. None of my three devices I use to control Tello is listed there
Someone on the forum had some initial problems with Note8, but it seems he managed to solve it: New Tello won't work with Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (just be careful with Step 2 ).
