Speed Control

Now, as @mido21612 pulled this topic up, I also took a look at what has been written so far.

Of course I agree with @volate!lo. The dominating component of thrust (produced by propeller speed) on multirotor drones goes into the vertical movement component just keeping the drone in the air. Horizontal movement is only achieved, when the drone changes it's attitude meaning that some of the propellers increase thrust, others decrease it (at least for a short moment). Only the portion of thrust that now helps accelerating in horizontal direction is missing on the vertical component and must be compensated by the flight controller with slightly increased propeller RPM in order to preserve the drone's height (altitude).

So, varying propeller speed (or more precisely: their RPM) is mainly used to change the thrust and will almost completely bee seen in the vertical component (drone ascending or descending). If @AIDrone would have said, that propeller speed strongy relates to vertical drone speed (climb / decending rate), we could follow him but so far, his statements only caused confusion and just appeared as unsuitable advertising for his software...

Regarding the question of the thread opener: As already explained here, there is no direct method to control propeller speed. You only indirectly have an influence on it by varying vertical speed. For that purpose Ryze provides an "SDK" and there are several frameworks supporting this, e.g. djitellopy.
