Help totally new ro the drone world

Hello I purchased a Tello, and a controller but I have no clue what to do next, I think all I've done is charge the batteries, lol what do I do next?

* What kind of phone do you have, Apple or Android?

* Download Tello app from App Store

* Download Tello owners manual from Ryze website

* Read manual - at least twice

* after that if you haven't figured out what to do next, come back and let us know

After following umanbean's instructions go to google and search "Tello getting started video". You will find lots of videos that will help get you in the air.

Whatever device your using (apple or android) follow these basic steps:

1. First turn on your drone, the front lights should start blinking.
2. Open "settings" on your phone or tablet.
3. Turn on "airplane mode" to avoid calls/texts from interfering.
4. Turn on the "wifi" and find the Tello drone and choose it for wifi.
5. Exit settings and open your Tello app that you downloaded already.
6. Wait for the drone to Connect, the blinking lights should turn solid green.
7. Once your green lighted your ready to take off.
8. Use the joysticks or the hand launch.

He won't be ready to fly using the controller until he syncs the controller to the phone through the Tello app.

That's what it says in line 6 & 7... wait for the drone to connect.

The controller doesn't automatically connect. You have to go into the app settings and make the connection to the controller.

Are you referring to a BT controller? I was explaining how to use the phone only as the controller... Now I understand what you meant above and I agree. The BT controller has to be made in the app. Sorry for the confusion.

No, I'm referring to the GameSir T1d controller. With the T1d you make the connection through the app.
