After watching a couple of Utubes on "Simply connect iPhone to PS4 controller" I was still unable to connect the two devices.
Then my wife reminded me that Bluetooth is device specific. So when I unpaired the controller from the Playstation I was able to pair it with the new device, the iPhone.
Easy....
