I just received my Tello drone. I am currently using an old phone with the regular Tello app. If I was to purchase the Tello FVP app and install it on the old phone, what happens if the phone dies? Do I have to purchase the app again and install on another phone or can I reinstall the app on another device using a code from the original purchase?

Same as with almost every other app: the license is glued to your google account.
As long as you use the same google account on your new phone you can install on multiple devices even at the same time.
