We all know the tello has dji blood/components in it
I have also found one more thing that brings a closer dji experience to tello users
We all know auto takeoff can be annoying with the auto climb especially in indoor conditions, so why not take off manually?
Well you can, just do the motor start/stop command (bottom down - bottom center)
After the motors have revved up you can now takeoff manually by throttling up and getting airborne
Not essentially a useful feature as auto takeoff does have better control but i think its cool that DJI did include that to the tello.
Very much not recommended to do for entertainment reasons(i.e starting the motors without taking off at all) as the motors have a limited life of 40+ hours (according to ryze with their very rough testing)
