Picked my tello up yesterday, and updated to the latest firmware.
On galaxy S8 im getting choppy frame rates, and the images are grey squares.

Ryze have said this is being worked on in the next firmware, but in the mean time, ive discovered opening the images in pixlr will actually 'find' the picture data.

Its not ideal, but its workable.

Just a shame the weather was awful so i didnt get to try it fully

As per the gamesir controller thread, ive noticed a huge drop off in wifi strength when i hold the controller in both hands (mainly due to my wedding ring being infront of the antenna I suspect) so I improvised and used my phone tripod as a makeshift handle.

Result: no frame drops. Range? Far enough that it was hard to see the drone. I guesstimate 20m+ easily and it was still only orange

It was too windy to get any decent footage
(And i ended up in a tree twice... one prop down) but as a framerate test I am happy.
The below was at 4mbs and a high quality pic (the wind was so strong i couldnt stabilise it horizontally for a decent view)

A little less windy today (amongst the trees at least)
Finding that going slower produces better video as full throttle forward/strafing causes the video to pan forward or tilt about 45 degrees.
Still getting the hang of trying to do things smoothly

Sun out, no wind... but had meetings all day so was only able to snap a couple of shots.

I have same problem with images on samsung J5. But If I send image with Msn it will visible. I dont understand but its working.

Yikes! I hear you! Good things worked out! What kind of range are your getting? Are you using a Wifi booster? I have a booster but not sure I have it working well. I actually have 2 different kinds and want to try. Seems I saw some where that flying in fast mode increases range...?

Im using a Xiaomi wifi extender powered from the OTG port on my S8.
I can easily reach the full length of a football pitch which is plenty far for me as the drone is barely visible.
Using fast mode has been key to rescuing the drone a couple of times.
