Illuminated top case and downward facing lighting, final configuration.

That looks real good. Could you let up know what led lights you are using? Thanks...

My question is. Do the sensors work with these lights?

Off eBay and power drawn off Tello via micro USB port. I used the OTG micro Male to female usb shown below

Great work DRN, especially taking power from the USB port!

In regards to the working position hold figure of 1-1.25m - is this when the tello is flying in pitch black conditions?

Cheers,
ph2t.

Yes

That's incredible!!
What sort of impact did drawing the power for the LEDs have on flight time?

I got 10 minutes flight in an indoor hover test, I would say on average about one minute reduction in flight time.

Awesome! I had a couple of lighting prototypes but I like yours much better! Can you leave them plugged in when you change batteries? (hot plug it) Where did you get the led lights? 4-5v?? Thanks!

I got led off eBay. See photo in this trail. They are designed to plug into usb socket.

Yes you can leave plug in whilst swapping batteries. Lights only illuminate after the Tello boots up when it is switched on.

Wow... !!!!
Can you Please do a "how to" and a buying list????
This is the most coolest thing I have seen with Tello.
Please see photos in this thread above, all that is needed is the usb leds and an OTG Male micro usb to female usb and a clear Tello top cover.

The LEDs are simply daisy chained off the the micro usb and the top cover led is connected to the first LED. You can see in the pictures I attach how the underside of the top cover was modified to allow the LED to fit flush under the cover.

Cost was £3.50 for top cover £1.99 for the five LED units and £1.99 for the two OTG connectors.
