Launch issues

Hello,
We've just purchased some Tello drones to use at school. We are yet to use them. Preparing these drones for next term is my holiday project. When I connect to Tello edu app the camera will work and settings indicates a connection is present, however I am unable to get the drone to launch. I have tried manual and code modes without anything happening. I am not even getting the propellers going. I have tried resetting the connection, but am still only able to access the camera. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Tello needs to be "registered" as Ryze call it. This happens automatically on first use of the drone with the ordinary Ryze Tello app. When finished the app also activates Tello for normal use.
Basically you have to connect every drone once to the normal Ryze app before they can take off.

And before you ask: I don't think this is documented anywhere

If you happen to have one of my apps (TelloFpv or TelloMe) you can also use these for this activation. If on Android the free demo is good enough. No free demo on Apple
