Understood, but if someone was just looking for a better video quality due to the better connection and not worries so much about the weight... this is a quick and easy solution for sure...
From what I have heard and read, the Tello can take around about 50 g to 60 g Max, after this the tello loses control, have you weighed everything as a matter of interest?

I dusted off my old scale and did weight the parts as is... Here you go... photo_2020-02-02_21-37-47.jpg
Coming in at around 36 grams. Not bad. Wonder what the stripped down version weighs?

So here's what the no fuss mod looks like all hooked up. Had to use a regular rubberband to keep the wifi stick in place as the grip on the lego adapter wasn't that great. I didn't want to glue it into place, in case it became broken or something else. This way the only thing glued together are the 2 lego adapter pieces. I also had to have it ride that far back on the drone so that the props wouldn't hit the cord. But in some test flights in the house, there's no issue with balance. photo_2020-02-24_21-32-00.jpg photo_2020-02-24_21-32-35.jpg photo_2020-02-24_21-32-42.jpg photo_2020-02-24_21-32-48.jpg photo_2020-02-24_21-32-53.jpg photo_2020-02-24_21-32-58.jpg photo_2020-02-24_21-33-04.jpg photo_2020-02-24_21-33-09.jpg

Your mod is great, but you can save weight removing Xiaomi wifi repeater white plastic case and leftover usb cable & connector.

Tale into account you are overloading tello. Every saved gram matters.

God luck with your test !

I'll try to explain you...

This mod involves TWO repeaters working at once, first one is in the back of the Tello and the second one is close to you, on top of your hat if you like ;)

Best regards

Raul.
The speed between the two repeaters is more stable and less likely to drop signal.
