Not connecting to Moto G6 Plus

[Storyline]

I have installed the app into my Moto G6 plus - Android 8 Oreo and have connected the phone to the Tello's wifi but when I launch the app I cannot connect. I just see the controller joysticks but no video feed.

Am I making a simple mistake or is it likely my phone is not compatible ?

Edit : have just downloaded app to my somewhat ancient tablet (Android 5) and to my surprise when I launched the app a video feed came up and then it asked me to activate my aircraft - Happy days !
Still want to use my phone though as I have a controller arriving tomorrow and the tablet will be too big to mount on it.

Just finished chatting with Ryze tech support. They just told me to try a 'compatible' phone. They didn't suggest Airplane mode. So glad it works now.
