When considering Remote ID - since Tello is under .55 lbs it falls in the exceptions for recreational use, and since it doesn't have gps, it doesn't have lat/long data that RID needs (so a firmware update can't accomplish RID). FAA says that you register the UAS as either recreational use or Part 107, not both. If the Tello were to be registered as a part 107 drone, does anyone know of a retrofit device that would do RIP for the Tello? Otherwise, after the September 2023 RID cutoff date, the Tello couldn't be registered and operated as a Part 107 drone, right?
