Of course it's the better option. Way more precise and customisable. But I wouldn't recommend buying a DX9 just to controll a tello ?
If you have one anyway that's great. I have a DX6i at home and will try it in the near future.
I´m not sure if they will perform good. Usually high gain comes at the cost of coverage. As you can see in this picture omnidirectional high gain antennas produce a "donut" around them
that would mean your tello won´t recieve or transmit anything in front or behind it.
for more details on...
@volate!lo just wanted you to thank you for all the effort you´re putting in this app. It´s really great.
And to ALL the others in here: Don´t forget to show some love and go to the playstore to rate TelloFPV!!!
Jepp. Das einzige was du machen kannst ist an einer guten W-Lan Verbindung arbeiten (mit einem repeater z.b.) um 4mbps Video Qualität konstant ohne Aussetzer halten zu können und das ist manchmal je nach Location schwer genug.
Next step done.
I've build a proper base for the repeater including a powerbank.
The antennas I choose are still in the mail... the ones on the photo are just some random ones I had laying around.
You can still see the status led and push the reset button
A switch for the repeater on one...
when you are looking for pure range, turn down the bitrate to 1mbps. Will look like crap but you should get more range. (If you are using TelloFPV also decrease the iFrames to 0s)
When you are in to easy and cheap antenna mods you should look into yagi antennas.
You can even hack them onto you rubber ducks: Die 0-Euro-Antenne
Sorry found it only in German....
Interesting that the booster does more harm than good. Have you tried taking the windsurfer of the boosted antenna?
Great distance!
Next way to go is using high gain patch antennas like @stewe12 suggest and I'm sure you'll hit the 1km Mark.
After that go get some 5w boosters ?... please don't (unless it'slegal in your country)
Unfortunately I can't test my setup atm because of weather....?
