Onboard application

Hi everyone,
I don’t have a Tello yet but I would like to know if it is possible to upload an application to the drone and run it without a connected phone. I’d like to program the Movidius chip directly to do computer vision and autonomous flight. Is this possible?
From my preliminary research this seems impossible but I thought it’s worth asking.

There is no known possibility so far. Pity, for autonomous Tello would be a killer machine

I saw somewhere that someone tried to strap RPi to Tello, but I don't know how it came out or was Tello even able to takeoff with the burden.
