Overheating at rest

I have since my last message i have put my laptop cooling pad to good use.
when i am doing any thing with the drone and i am fiddling around with the app
i place the tello drone onto the cooling pad and this keeps it nice and cool.

Will someone please try this and let me know if this is "normal"?

Turn on Tello and connect. Don't fly. Wait for a minute or two. See if it shuts off due to overheat.

Thanks.
Yeah mines doing the same thing and it’s definitely getting toasty. Just hope this doesn’t happen in flight

Cool. I'm interested to hear what they say. Still curious if it's every Tello or just a minority that overheats? I may contact them as well.
Mine gives the same message and shuts down after a few minutes. My understanding was this normal. The message I get says Tello has not flown for 1 minute and will shut down.

The Tello is designed to direct cooling air from the propwash onto the pcb and keep it cool during flight but not when it’s idle. It usually only takes me 20-30 seconds to get it airborne.
