I just purchased my Tello and it worked fine at firs. Now when I try lift off it seems to try to flip while it’s rising up. Even when I try to throw it..Help!

Verify that the propellers are nice and tight in their respective motors.

If you had a crash, even a small one, you may need to re calibrate the CG
(center of gravity), or possibly the need to re-cal the IMU. Check the props
to see if there are any missing chunks or nicks involved. Even a small nick
will effect the performance of the bird. Also, you may want to look at the arm
struts to see if they haven't been broken. If so, super glue works wonders on plastic. good luck, and pse let us know how it goes.

I’ve been out of town. Thanks for the help. I will try this weekend.

So i checked propellers and they seem fine but as I was investigating, I noticed one of the lights on bottom does not turn red when turned on! This is my first drone and I just got rhis!

Lights on the bottom? You mean the infra red sensor? You shouldn't be able to see this.

If you ment this infra red sensors20181104_123422.jpg. Don't worry. One sends the infra red and the other one receives it. It was designed this way. So yours isn't broken. Your next step is do an IMU and Gravity calibration.

Hope it fixes your problem.

I see one is red and the other is not whe it is on. Both out when off

So why does flip at take off?
I've read about this, where one of the motors is giving more thrust than the rest. Hopefully this isn't your case. If it's so, then either return it for warranty or replace the motors.

Also, if you fly with prop guards, take them off and see how it behaves.

Ok guys, thank you for all your help. After talking to tello support, I did’nt know that propellers are marked and go on certain posts (Duh). Like I said, I’m knew to drones. Now I know! Now im going to try to set up my T1 controller, and by thw way I am flying again!

I’m glad you were able to fix it.

Vadub, glad to hear you're back in business.
No one is laughing at you for mistaking the CW / CCW props.
We all were new beez once. I've been (trying) to fly models
since I was ten (1955) and I still mess-up.
One thing to keep in mind, that I do, is make a pre-flight check
list and use it each time you have a fly session. Are the
batteries charged?? The Tello, the Android, the T1d controller??
My system requires me to turn cellular data off, and location on.
Various other features also must be adjusted, and when I finish
my flying session, I reverse everything on the check list card.
That helps me come back to a repeatative point of reference.
Then I go home, charge all my batts, and wait for the next
sunny day.
I hope my expers have helped you and others on the forum
Kreigor.......

Warrior, thank you for your advice. I’m enjoying flying everyday. I am going to start looking for a better one. I think I’m already an addict! Lol
