A new little drone ...

assembler was a lot but certainly not great IMO. As a human I very much prefer the abstraction levels offered by more modern languages, instead of hacking around with registers and stuff.
But back then we just did not have the processing power required for these abstractions so assembler was the only option for anything involving even slightest number crunching.

In some conditions assembler was more effective in terms of algorithms.
When programming binary logic for large machine, switch the head to a "computer mode' is very useful :)
But i had successful experience of programming the games in assembler :) simply for programming experience and for testing of some custom libraries for work.
